Any changes to the configuration of a company are made via the Edit company page.
- Go to the IOMAD dashboard.
- Choose the company you'd like to edit from the Select a company dropdown (or use the company selector at the top right of the page).
- Click on the Companies tab.
- Select Edit company.
Company settings
- Manager emails
- Set manager email preferences: this includes frequency of digest emails, what events should trigger emails to managers (reminder or completion emails, or both), and which template set to apply. You can also specify a profile field here from which to pull an external email address - this is used if you'd like to send manager emails to an address which isn't tied to an account on the site, such as an external supervisor.
- Advanced company settings
- See the Advanced company options section below.
- User defaults
- Set default preferences for users in the company. This covers forum and email notification preferences; the default text editor, time zone and language; and whether user email addresses are made visible to other course participants by default.
- Appearance
- Set a company-wide theme from available themes installed on the site. Here, you can also specify a company logo, favicon, CSS, colours and menu items.
- Certificate design
- Upload per-company assets to be used with the IOMAD certificate plugin.
- Outgoing mail configuration
- This is where to configure custom SMTP settings per company, such as an external SMTP server. If the Use company specific email configuration box is left unchecked, these will be inherited from whatever settings are defined in Moodle Site administration.
Advanced company options
- List of company domains
- This is used to assign users to the company based on the email domain they supply on self-signup (if enabled). Any user who self-registers using an email domain from this list will be automatically filtered into this company.
- Maximum active users
- Sets the total number of users that can exist within the tenant.
- Webserver hostname
- Used to assign per-company URLs. Any user who comes into the site on this domain will be directed automatically to this company. This should contain just the hostname, in the format testcompany.iomad.org (i.e. no https:// preamble).
- Apply role template
- If you have a saved role template set, you can apply this here to override the company's current role structure.
- Available role templates
- Allows you to restrict which role templates should be made available to any child companies of this tenant.
- Parent company
- Assign or edit a parent company for the current tenant. Any company managers in the parent company will then be automatically assigned as managers of the current (child) company. Licenses from a parent company can also be split with the child.
- Contract end date
- After this date, the company will be suspended along with all company users. Reporting data is not cleared down, though.
- Terminate after
- Used in conjunction with the Contract end date, this is the period of time after the company is suspended before all licenses, course enrolments and interactions are cleared down.
- Custom fields
- Additional fields that can be used to store any other information about the company.
