Manage IOMAD course settings
The Manage IOMAD course settings page has many useful settings for managing licence type, email alerts for expiration and completion, course-sharing, and course visibility.
- Go to the IOMAD dashboard.
- Choose the company you'd like to edit from the Select a company dropdown (or use the company selector at the top right of the page).
- Click on the Courses tab.
- Select Manage IOMAD course settings.
The page allows for filtering by company and courses, and displays a list of courses and their settings. If no filter is set, all courses are displayed for the currently selected company. The list of companies will only contain the companies that the manager or admin has the permissions to view.
Settings
The values of the table can be edited by entering Edit mode.
- Is licensed
- This setting determines whether the course has license enrolment, self-enrolment, or some form of manual enrolment.
- Training expires after (days)
- If set, this is the amount of time in days between a user completing training, and that training expiring. It does not matter when the user was enrolled. The user will be automatically un-enrolled from the course once training has expired, or earlier if Days to email before training expires or Enrolment expires after (days) is set.
- Enrolment expires after (days)
- If set, this is the amount of time in days after a user completes a course that a user will be un-enrolled.
- Days to email before training expires
- If Training expires after (days) is set, a reminder email will be sent out this number of days after the training expires. Users will be un-enrolled from their course when the reminder email is sent out, allowing them to re-take the training.
- Days to email after if user has not started
- If set, this is the amount of time in days after being enrolled in a course that a student must start that course, or else they will be sent a reminder email.
- Days to email after if not complete
- If Training expires after (days) is set, this is the amount of time in days after being enrolled in a course that a student must complete that course, or else they will be sent a reminder email.
- Days between email alerts
- The number of days between reminder emails being sent to users.
- Display course grade
- Whether the course grade should be displayed in the reports. Reports that mix grades from multiple courses will include these as N/A.
- Autoenrolment courses
- When a user is added to the company or department to which this course belongs, they are automatically enrolled onto this course. This is useful for onboarding, as it allows users to be automatically enrolled onto courses from the get-go.
- Is shared
- No asserts that the course is not shared.
Open sharing shares the course across all companies.
Closed sharing shares the course to a select few companies– which companies have access can be set on the Assign to company page.
Note
Another column will also be displayed when Edit mode is enabled. This has functions for:
- Changing the visibility of the course (eye icon);
- Copying the course (copy icon);
- Deleting the course (trashcan icon);
- Granting control of the course to the company (Open circle icon = not granted, Filled circle icon = granted);
The icons which appear depend on the user's capabilities and the state of the course. A company manager can only copy or delete courses for which they have been granted control.
